The Kilowatt Cup Wins Big for Charity

On April 15th, we hosted our annual mine hockey tournament, the Kilowatt Cup along with GMR Electric Motors and STCI Power Solutions. This year’s tournament was the first time the Kilowatt Cup was hosted since the COVID-19 pandemic. All proceeds of the tournament went to support the White Buffalo Youth Lodge Backpack Carnival. Over the years, this event has provided thousands of children with much needed school backpacks and supplies, along with a street Carnival event where there is free food, fun activities, free haircuts and more to give everyone a great day and what they need as they head into the school year. The tournament was able to raise $5000.00 for the great cause!

The tournament was host to six different teams including Nutrien Lanigan, Nutrien Allan Mill, Nutrien Allan Mine, Nutrien Cory, Nutrien Patience Lake, and our very own TPS/GMR team. All teams played hard and produced some high-quality hockey, the final results of the tournament are as follows:

A-Side Champions: Nutrien Lanigan

A-Side Finalists: Nutrien Allan Mill

B-Side Champions: Nutrien Cory

B-Side Finalists: Nutrien Patience Lake

C-Side Champions: Nutrien Allan Mine

C-Side Finalists: TPS/GMR

We would like to thank all our sponsors that helped:

Nutana Machine, Gescan, Eecol, Noramco, Electrowind, Saskatoon Metal Manufacturing, Impact Marketing, ASA Alloys, Westburne, E.B. Horsman, ABB, BDI, and TECO Westinghouse
